Minerals from Alicante

We intend to display here the highest number we can of specimens of minerals located throughout the province of Alicante. Although this is not a Spanish province especially rich in mineral species, there are several sites that are famous among collectors because of the quality of the pieces that have been found in them: Albatera, Serreta Larga, Verdegás, Arneva, etc. Along its history, Alicante has essentially lacked underground minery, except for a few exceptions like Busot, Tibi, Petrer, Orihuela, Villena and El Albir. However, surface exploitations, especially of arid resources and ornamental limestones, have traditionally been -and are now- quite abundant |
